Overview:
The Strategic Sourcing Group (SSG) is a department within Corporate Operations. The Strategic Sourcing Group is a centre of competency for evaluating, negotiating, sourcing, and structuring supplier agreements for products and services used across the organization. To fully leverage procurement's power, Strategic Sourcing is responsible to negotiate and source best-in-class supplier agreements which offer the best possible service, quality and pricing performance for products and services used across the enterprise, with the objective to achieve targeted annual savings on non-interest expenses.

Key Accountabilities:
Responsible for all aspects of category management for the Business Operations (Banking Products/Services and Operations) spend category, including:
- Supporting the development and implementation of North American category strategies employing category management best practices
- Developing demand management strategies for category specialty (spend analytics, identifying spend efficiencies and sourcing opportunities)
- Developing category value optimization strategies (total cost of ownership analytics and optimization, supply chain quality improvements, cost modeling, procurement related economics & financial analysis) in support of our business partner strategies
- Contribute to Client savings while meeting the needs of internal business partners
- Conducting market intelligence activities for category specialty (Industry, supply market and supply chain research and analytics, category sourcing and outsourcing trends and best practices)
- Providing guidance on outsourcing governance best practices
- With oversight of Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager, manage strategic sourcing activities for category specialty including:
o Development of sourcing strategies
o Lead sourcing initiatives including requirements gathering, supplier/solutions evaluation, and supplier selection activities
o Lead contract negotiations with external suppliers and internal stakeholders
o Ensure sourcing process and supplier contracts deliver maximum quality, at service o levels and/or price points that meet business partners requirements
o Ensure established policies and practices (internal controls) are adhered to in the sourcing process.
- Within category specialty, support business partners by contributing to development and execution of the following:
o Supplier transition activities
o Supplier governance programs
o Monitoring of supplier contract value
o Monitoring of category spend compliance
- Build and maintain strong, mutually beneficial relationships with key suppliers and business partners
- Build a network of Strategic Sourcing professionals to enable him/her to become/stay current with the latest category management and sourcing trends and best practices

Qualifications:
The Strategic Sourcing Manager will help drive the adoption of Strategic Sourcing to ensure the bank's targeted savings are achieved. The incumbent will bring strong negotiating and influence skills to the table during more complex internal negotiations. You will play a key role in determining sourcing strategies on a category and vendor-by-vendor basis, and will provide leadership on obtaining business line buy-in.

Specific Educational Requirements / Accreditations:
- Undergraduate business degree or related work experience
- MBA would be an asset
